Mercy's HIPEC Program is led by Dr. Vadim Gushchin. Patients often choose Drs. Gushchin, Sardi and Campbell for their expertise in Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy, more commonly known as HIPEC. This innovative procedure for treating late stage, complex, abdominal cancers often can be a lifesaving treatment. Mercy offers patients focused expertise in pancreatic and hepatobiliary (liver, bile ducts and gallbladder) surgery, also known as hepato-pancreato-biliary (HPB) surgery.

Patients who require an overnight stay will find expansive, homelike patient rooms on the Oncology Floor in the Main Hospital, The Mary Catherine Bunting Center at Mercy. Mercy offers patients and their families a full array of comforts and conveniences across our campus, including a variety of eateries, gift shops, pastoral care and Chapel services, parking facilities attached to each campus building by easy-access all-weather bridges, valet service at the main entrance of each building and complementary Wi-Fi and satellite TV service.

In addition to seeing patients at Mercy’s main campus, the cancer doctors also have office hours at our Mercy Personal Physicians sites around the Baltimore beltway. Mercy Personal Physicians offers patients access to specialists, primary care physicians, certified nurse practitioners as well as imaging, infusion and laboratory services.
