Mercy remains committed to our mission and the foundational principles of our medical center since its beginning, nearly 150 years ago: Like the Sisters of Mercy before us, we witness God’s healing love for all people by providing excellent clinical and residential services within a community of compassionate care.

We believe the diversity of our patients and the recruitment and retention of a diverse workforce strengthens us as a health care community. Mercy is dedicated to continually evaluating programs, policies and practices, and discovering new opportunities to eliminate potential barriers and contribute to diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives.

Our team continues to work alongside the community as well as industry partners including the American Hospital Association, Catholic Health Association and Maryland Hospital Association to develop and implement strategies to address disparities and support a health care community that is diverse, inclusive, equitable and welcoming for all.
